A young pupil at Ta Pen school in Cambodia has won second place in a recent reading competition

Pheakdey is all of six years old and is in the second year at Ta Pen primary school. One of 27 candidates, he won 2nd place in the reading competition organised between three schools last July by our partners Bondos Komar.

His parents, simple farmers at Chambork Beydeum village, registered him and his elder bother at Ta Pen school in 2014. In two years Pheakday has learned to read and write and has discovered the library and the wonderful world of stories.
